Air to Port A forces the pistons outwards, causing the pinion to switch counterclockwise while the air is getting fatigued from Port B.
Air to Port B forces the pistons inwards, creating the pinion to switch clockwise although the air is getting exhausted from Port A.

CW
Air to Port A forces the pistons outwards, leading to the pinion to flip clockwise whilst the air is currently being exhausted from Port B.
Air to Port B forces the pistons inwards, causing the pinion to turn counterclockwise even though the air is getting exhausted from Port A.

Spring return actuators
CCW
Air to port A forces the pistons outwards, causing the EPTs to compress, The pinion turns counterclockwise whilst air is getting exhausted from port B.
Decline of air pressure on port A, the stored power in the EPTs forces the pistons inwards. The pinion turns clockwise even though air is currently being exhausted from port A.

Air to port B forces the pistons outwards, triggering the EPTs to compress, The pinion turns counterclockwise while air is becoming exhausted from port B.
